Whitman-Walker was one of the first responders to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in DC in the early 1980s. Since then, we've developed a deep experience in providing high quality care for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Becoming a WW Patient

All services are available to the Spanish-speaking community through bilingual staff and volunteers. Other translation services are available upon request.

Free HIV testing and counseling - Free, walk-in testing at both sites and on our mobile testing unit.

"Red Carpet" - Our “rapid visits” system for patients who are new to Whitman-Walker and newly diagnosed with HIV. Under “Red Carpet,” these patients are seen by their entire care team on their first visit.

Medical care - High quality care from providers experience in treating HIV/AIDS.

Onsite pharmacy - HIV/AIDS medications available onsite.

Medical adherence - Help for you to maintain your treatment regimen.

Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) - Preventing HIV infection.

Dental care - A full range of dental services.

Behaviorial health care - One-on-one counseling and therapy and support groups for mental health issues.

Legal services - Help with civil legal matters relating to HIV/AIDS.
