Other Ways to Support Whitman-Walker Health

"In Honor Of" or Memorial Giving

A particularly meaningful way to honor or remember family, friends, colleagues or loved ones, Honor of and Memorial giving enables you to give a gift that gives to many.  Upon receipt of your gift, an acknowledgement of your caring tribute is issued to the designated recipient. As with all gifts, we will acknowledge you, the donor with a thank-you letter containing the appropriate tax language.

You may also make an Honor of donation online right now and send an instant e-mail to your designated honoree here.

Planned Giving

One of the most important things you can do for yourself and your loved ones is make sure your will is up to date. You may also create a lasting legacy at Whitman-Walker by simply providing a bequest to Whitman-Walker Health in your will. You can name Whitman-Walker Health as the direct beneficiary of assets, a portion or percentage of your estate, or what remains of your estate after other obligations have been met. Your support and name will continue to be associated with Whitman-Walker, providing a legacy of remembrance.

Whitman-Walker Health’s sample bequest language:

"I hereby give and bequeath [amount dollars or percentage] to Whitman-Walker Health, a not-for-profit tax-exempt organization incorporated in 1977 in Washington, DC, having federal tax ID number 52-1122122, for its general purposes."

There are many other types of planned gifts. Like personal financial plans, they should be tailored to your individual circumstances and can often improve your financial position. Please consult with a certified financial planner to discuss the wide range of charitable estate planning tools available to you today.

For more information about planned giving, please e-mail or call Robert York at 202.797.3596.

Whitman-Walker Health accepts, and is grateful for, many different types of gifts in kind contributions. All we require is that your in-kind contribution meet our and our clients' needs.

Whether it be translation services for a document or donation of new medical equipment that will help us to provide top-notch care, we will work with you to see that your accepted donation is put to use where it is needed most.

Please note that Whitman-Walker reserves the right to decline any gift that does not further its goals or involves special maintenance or other conditions Whitman-Walker may be unable to satisfy. Also, we request our donors to make arrangements to deliver their in-kind contributions.
