Jessica Estrada

Jessica Estrada serves as the Director of Nursing for Whitman-Walker. She oversees medical care management provided at Whitman-Walker including the services offered by the Nurse Care Managers, Care Navigators, and Referral Coordinators.

Jessica is a Registered Nurse and received a Master’s of Science in Nursing for Public Health Nursing from Johns Hopkins University in 2011. She had practical experiences with the National Association for School Nurses and Franklin Square Hospital Center in health policy and program evaluation respectively. Prior to graduate school, Jessica was a Nurse Care Manager here at Whitman-Walker from 2008-2010.

Heather grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from The Schreyer Honors College at Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Sociology. She worked as a psychiatric nurse in an addictions setting prior to coming to WWH in 2008 as the Bridge Back Staff Nurse. Heather is currently the Supervisor of the Medical Adherence Dietician and Nurse Case Managers.

Julie Frkovich

Julie has worked at Whitman-Walker since 2005.  She graduated with a BA from the University of Maryland College Park with a concentration in Public Health. She has taught Women’s Health classes at American University and sex education classes for the DC public school system. Julie not only works as a Care Coordinator in the Medical Adherence Unit, but also frequently volunteers her time as an HIV tester/counselor.

Neatha Glover

Neatha Glover has been on staff at Whitman-Walker since 2007.  She is a native Washingtonian and has had a long career in health care, trained as a medical assistant and surgical technician.  Neatha has worked at George Washington University Hospital, Howard University Hospital and the HSC Pediatric Center before joining Whitman-Walker.  Neatha attended the Georgetown School of Arts and the University of the District of Columbia.

Nakia Jones

Nakia Sharee Jones was born and raised in the northeast part of Washington, DC. She graduated from M.M. Washington technical high school, where she studied culinary arts. NNakia enjoys working in the health care field and has seven years of health care experience. Nakia is trained as a medical assistant and is currently in school for Health Care Administration. She worked in medical records for more than five years and patient registration for over one year. Nakia joined Whitman-Walker in 2010 as a Referral Coordinator in the Medical Adherence Unit.

Nia Keita

As a native Washingtonian, Nia has witnessed the impact of HIV and AIDS on the local community personally.  She graduated from the University of the District of Columbia with an Associates Degree in Nursing. Prior to working at WWH, she worked at Washington Hospital Center, Howard University Hospital and Community Connections.  She started at WWH in 2003 as senior staff nurse of WWH’s Day Treatment Program.

Sara Larson

Nurse Care Manager

Sara is a Nurse Care Manager in Medical Adherence.  She recently earned her Master's of Science in Nursing/Master's of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, where she also earned her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Prior to becoming a nurse, Sara worked for an organization serving refugees in Jordan and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Social Policy from Northwestern University.

Obiageli (Oby) Littlejohn, RN

Oby was born in Nigeria, West Africa and graduated in 1987 from the University of Nigeria with a BA in Dramatic Arts and, in 2000, with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing, from the same university. She migrated to the United States in 2003 to pursue a nursing career, which was influenced by her experience during church outreaches with people living with HIV. She graduated in 2010 with a BSN from George Mason University, Fairfax VA. Oby has over four years experience in Case Management working (for home-health organizations in North Carolina and MD) with Special population and adolescents with anti-social behaviors. Oby served with the Whitman-Walker GMHWC during her Community Health rotation in summer of 2010 and then joined the Medical Adherence staff full time upon graduation.

Effie Marvray

Effie Marvray joined the staff of Whitman Walker Health in February 2006. She began her employment here as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Bridge Back, then transferred to the Day Program at the Austin Center.  Effie has now transitioned to the role of Medical Adherence Care Navigator and looking forward to assisting you.

Megan O’Hanlon-Solis

Megan O’Hanlon Solis earned her Masters of Science in Nursing/Masters of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University in 2008. She also holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelors of Arts in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University. She brings an extensive background of public health and nursing experience, both domestically and internationally. Her career has largely focused on harm reduction as a tool for social justice and community-based interventions for substance abuse, mental health and HIV. While obtaining her Master’s degrees, she completed practicums at the Baltimore County Bureau of Substance Abuse and Fort Belknap Indian Community in rural Montana. Additionally, she worked in HIV and STI counseling and testing at Chase Brexton Health Services in Baltimore, community health nursing in Haiti, and nutritional/prenatal education at Women, Infants and Children in Baltimore. Megan also served as the 2003-2004 National AIDS Fund Americorps member at HIPS, an organization serving commercial sex workers in Washington DC, and served as an HIV/AIDS educator at a school and local hospital in Tanzania, East Africa. Megan speaks both English and Spanish.

Marion Smith

Marion is a Medical Adherence Nurse Care Manager. Most recently she comes from Washington Hospital Center where she worked as a nurse on the Medical Oncology unit. Prior to that she was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho where she focused on HIV awareness and education issues. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Johns Hopkins University.

Brittany Walsh

Manager of Care Navigators and Referral Coordinators

Brittany Walsh rejoined the Whitman-Walker Medical Adherence team as Manager of Care Navigators and Referral Coordinators earlier this year after first serving as an AmeriCorps member through the Washington AIDS Partnership in 2008-2009. Originally from the Detroit area, Brittany attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for Psychology, History and Peace Studies and earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Washington in Seattle, along with certification in public health practice. Brittany volunteers at WWH’s Gay Men’s Health and Wellness Clinic as a Risk Reduction Counselor and serves on the Mayor’s Commission for LGBTQ Affairs. Brittany is thrilled to work alongside such a passionate, engaged team and sees this role as an extension of her values in community building, social justice and harm reduction.
